Sustainability and Marine Ecosystems: An Environmental Perspective

Teenagers in Park
Step into the world of environmental science and discover how ecosystems function, what threatens them, and how we can take action to protect our planet. This forward-thinking course blends theory with hands-on investigation, giving students the opportunity to study both global environmental systems and local marine biodiversity in depth.

You’ll explore pressing issues like climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss while also developing practical research skills. From examining coral bleaching to analysing water quality in real lab settings, this course gives you a taste of what it means to be an environmental scientist today,  and what it will take to become one tomorrow.

What You’ll Learn

  • Key environmental concepts: ecosystems, sustainability, climate science, and conservation

  • The impact of human activity on terrestrial and marine environments

  • How to conduct scientific fieldwork and collect environmental data

  • Techniques in marine biology: microscopy, specimen analysis, and data interpretation

  • Environmental policy, activism, and the role of science in shaping the future
